WINE

MORNING HARVEST AT A SONOMA WINERY

Come August or September next year, you’ll mosey up to Sonoma and meet one of the rising stars in California’s viticultural landscape, Andrew Mariani. Andrew is the founder-vintner of Scribe Winery, a gorgeous outpost an hour north of San Francisco. With his brother Adam, they’ve built a destination vineyard and hacienda that welcomes all guests as if they were part of the family. As a part of this experience, you’ll meet Andrew in the morning during harvest season, walk the dusty vine rows at Scribe and pluck a few grapes during the harvest. Scribe is a beyond-special place, and this might be the most extraordinary way to experience it.

FOODWAYS

A PITMASTER’S TOUR OF NEW AUSTIN BBQ

Austin is the capitol of American barbecue, with a mix of mom-n-pop brisket joints and upstart pitmasters with new smoke signals. For this golden ticket, you’ll take a tasting tour of three new-ish spots with serious street cred. We’ll foot the bill, hand over the hand-drawn map, give you menu insights and set you up to meet Miguel Vidal, the pitmaster behind Valentina’s Tex-Mex BBQ (the spot Aaron Franklin swears by). Miguel will show you the pits, share a few secrets and clink Topo’s with you. Note: This BBQ tour could possibly put you into a meat-induced state of euphoria.

MUSIC

NASHVILLE SOUNDCHECK WITH THE LONE BELLOW

If you took a poll of most-listened to songs in the Wildsam HQ in the last 5 years, one band would likely show up more than any other: The Lone Bellow. The roof-blasting trio launched when all three bandmates were living in Brooklyn, and a couple years back planted new roots in Nashville. It’s been inspiring to watch their path and a joy to crank the volume on each new record. For this experience, you’ll see the band at pre-show soundcheck, get a signed vinyl from Zach, Brian and Kanene, then enjoy the show.

DESIGN

BUSINESS OF DESIGN SESSION IN CHARLESTON

We’ve been fortunate to know Courtney Rowson and Amy Pastre since before Wildsam even had a name. They founded their multi-disciplinary design studio, SDCO Partners, in 2009, bringing a Midas touch to brands large and small. You’ve likely seen their beautiful work: for global companies such as Le Creuset and Target, independent businesses such as Brightland Olive Oil, Rewined Candles and Smithey Ironware, plus dozens of cafes, breweries, pie shops and boutique hotels. (That roster includes Wildsam: Thanks guys!) Courtney, Amy and their team bring a hand-crafted spirit to their design philosophy, working out of a historic row house in downtown Charleston. For this golden ticket experience, you’ll spend a one-on-one work session with Courtney and Amy at SDCO HQ, learning their approach to the business of design, how they kick-off new projects and what SDCO best practices that you might apply to your own venture. And as a token of extra southern hospitality, you’ll also take home a few pieces of their extra-special client work.

INSPIRATION

SEE INSIDE A BROOKLYN CHARTER SCHOOL

Longtime friend of Wildsam, Christie Chow, is the Director of Operations for one of the top charter schools in New York City. And prior to helping start Kings Collegiate in the Brownswood neighborhood of Brooklyn, she worked at Teach For America. For this golden ticket experience, you’ll meet Christie and walk the halls of Kings Collegiate, seeing the magic that 350 students (5th through 8th grade) bring with every school bell and hearing how the Uncommon Schools network inspires, educates and transforms their communities. Truly, this school is an extraordinary window into life in Brooklyn.
